Transit Operations Manager will manage all aspects of Transit Operations including but not limited to on time performance standards, service interruptions, detour management, and all other aspects of the transit service. This position will also oversee BOC Dispatchers, Road Supervisors, and Terminal Supervisors and ensure that they are accomplishing all their assigned tasks and following their unique job descriptions and standard operating procedures (SOPs). The Transit Operations Manager will provide guidance and support to all Transit Operations personnel for the goal of maximizing the reliability and safety of our transit service for our passengers.

Ensures performance indicators meet or exceed client and corporate expectations. Liquidated damages are kept to a minimum and failures are corrected.
Manage all Operations personnel such as BOC Dispatchers, Road Supervisors, Transit Operations Shift Managers, and On-time Performance Monitors.
Knowledge with the entire Las Vegas RTC service (geographical) area.
Must be knowledgeable with all aspects of bus operators, road supervisors, terminal supervisors, on -time performance monitors’ jobs.
Must be knowledgeable with special events that occur in the Las Vegas area.
Understand and follow the RTC’s (the client) and Transdev’s policies and procedures.
Proficient and experienced in all but not limited to various software systems such as Orbital, Swiftly, VDS, Outlook, Excel, Teams, Genesys phone system, and others as instructed and assigned.
Oversees the entire route system by monitoring trip performance measures, routes running on time, overall performance, radio communications with operators, road supervisors, incidents, etc.
Assist and train with radio and phone calls.
Handles incidents that have been escalated, which includes communicating with the client, management team, other departments, etc.
Continually managing and auditing normal transit service, late logins/pull-outs, cancellations, missed trips, and delayed service.
Manage staff, their schedules, handle call offs by filling those shifts.
Knowledgeable in creating reports and following procedures.
Demonstrate interpersonal skills and the ability to comprehend all policies and procedures, as well as follow Transdev’s specific standard operating procedures (SOPs) that define various work tasks.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule and work all shifts when needed.
Performs all other duties as assigned and may assist with other areas based on location needs.
Minimum Education & Certifications Required
A high school diploma or equivalent
Must be skilled in customer service delivery, problem-solving, and decision-making.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, ability to influence without authority.
Must have a working knowledge of ADA law and ADA service requirements.
To be dependable and proficient in time management, meeting deadlines, and multi-tasking.
To be able to work a flexible schedule which may include weekends.
A minimum of five years of transportation management experience
Proficiency using MS Office products including MS Excel and MS Word and Windows based programs.
Experience in a Transit Operations position is required.
Minimum Experience & Skills Required
At least 5 years’ experience working in public transit
Minimum 3 years’ experience of supervising (or equivalent) transit operations
Experienced with AVL system, such as Orbital, Avail, Clever Devices, Swiftly
Excellent verbal, interpersonal and training skills
Excels at problem solving and analyzing data
Excellent customer service skills
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Must be able to move about the office and between floors; utilize standard office equipment; access filing system/cabinets; and communicate effectively and efficiently in person or by telephone.
Stand, sitting and walking for extended periods
