Transdev Human Resources Manager in Mesa, Arizona

Overview

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for all functions of the Human Resources department including recruiting, candidate screening, hiring processes, onboarding, offboarding, and enforcing policies and procedures.

This is for proposed business and all offers are contingent upon Transdev's award of the contract at Tempe and Mesa, AZ.

Responsibilities

  • Consults with operations management on human resource issues related to hiring, compensation, training and development, disciplinary actions, and terminations

  • Compiles documentation and obtains approval from the Regional Director of Human Resources on terminations

  • Manages best practices of recruiting, candidate screening, selection, hiring processes, onboarding, file keeping, and offboarding

  • Manages compliance issues; identifies and pro-actively plans to mitigate risks

  • Interprets and assists with the understanding of policies and procedures

  • Coaches and mentors assigned employees; assigns work according to availability, skills, and development needs; assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports

  • Maintains confidentiality of all information

  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

Education, Licensing, and Certifications Required :

  • High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required

Education, Licensing, and Certifications Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field preferred

  • PHR or SPHR Certification preferred

Experience :

  • At least five years of relevant human resource experience, including recruiting, selection, and employee relations, required

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Understanding of state and federal employment laws

  • Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret instructions, policies, and procedures

  • Strong written and oral communication skills; strong presentation skills

  • HRIS, ADP, and investigative experience preferred

Travel requirement <10%

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Must successfully clear drug testing, background check, and employment verification

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed

  • 100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated office

  • Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer

  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, and looking at a computer screen
