Transdev U.S. is seeking an experience Employment and Labor Attorney to serve as Associate General Counsel reporting to the General Counsel & Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer.
The Role: Building on Transdev’s purpose and values, the Associate General Counsel , will act as a member of the Corporate Legal Department with a concentration on labor and employment law, compliance and labor relations across all divisions of the Company. On a corporate level, the duties may also include general legal assignments in respect to all divisions of the Company. This attorney will report directly to the General Counsel & Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, but work closely and collaboratively with the CHRO, the Executive Committee and business leadership in the field.
This position is based at the Transdev US Lombard, IL (Chicago area) HQ office and will require travel throughout the US based on business need (approx. 20%). Some international travel will be required as well. Local candidates are preferred; however, relocation will be considered for the right candidate.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide legal expertise and support to foster compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations relating to employment and labor
Provide support to HR in complex employee relations matters (including grievance and arbitration process)
Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and practices that mitigate risk and promote compliance with existing and developing laws and regulations
Promote and maintain governance and compliance matters generally with strong understanding of location needs and mindset, including working with Human Resources to educate and train workforce in labor and employment law issues
Assistance with local labor grievance and arbitrations, workers’ compensation litigation cases, in collaboration with the General Counsel, Human Resources, Labor and Operations
Manage outside counsel on all labor and employment litigation as well as managing labor and employment litigation strategy
Work closely with the General Counsel on all compliance related domestic matters as well as participate in compliance reporting to the parent company in France.
Manage an internal team of union negotiators and oversee their work in terms of various union negotiations.
Design and implement training programs to manage risk in the labor and employment space in conjunction with the General Counsel and HR partners.
Managing internal investigations related to labor and employment matters
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree and JD
Licensed to practice in one or more States

Experience with transportation industry, logistics, manufacturing, and/or public procurement are a plus
