Transdev Market Expansion Manager (TOD) in Dulles, Virginia

Overview

Dulles Checker Airport Taxi is growing in the Dulles, VA area. As a result of this, we are seeking a Market Expansion Manager to support this development. Dulles is part of Transdev on Demand (formerly Veolia Transportation), a national leader in passenger ground transportation services. This position will require entrepreneurial thinking and planning. The successful candidate will lead and supervise day-to-day operations from coordinating expansion with existing services and support teams to overseeing the drivers, supporting customers and managing operations in the Metropolitan area. Daily duties include: communication and interaction with Independent Contractor drivers along with other employees; organizing and conducting activities to ensure safe and cost-effective business practices. This position will be required to maintain the highest standard of customer service with our clients, passengers, and employees. This position reports to the General Manager of Dulles at Checker Airport Taxi.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include: developing and implementing short and long-term recruitment plans, guidelines and procedures that enhance operations, and maintaining a climate of good communication and problem solving.

  • Recruiting drivers by visiting local cab stands and metro stations

  • Maintain Driver files / accounts

  • Responsible for influencing positive driver morale and quality customer service

  • Maintain reports\dashboard for management

  • Orientation of all Drivers for safety and customer service

  • Establish goals and objectives for the operation relating to recruiting/retention and collections

  • Effectively manage clear and direct communications

  • Oversee adherence to established policies, procedures and guidelines

  • Develop business strategies with Management Team

  • Write reports on business operations

  • Manage 2-3 Job Fairs Annually - with Social Media Event tie-in

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree, will consider applicable experience and/or education

  • Experience with a start-up operation is a plus

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles; work experience with Independent Contractors highly desired

  • Ability to solve practical problems

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain composure under pressure

  • Ability to maintain a very high level of customer service with clients, passengers and co-workers

  • Leadership ability

  • Team building skills

  • Work independently without direct supervision

  • Ability to work well with all levels of management, executive leadership and support staff

  • Pre-employment drug screening and a background check are required.

  • Must have a valid driver's license and no DUI/DWI within the last seven years
